Benefits of a Fitness Expert

19/05/2011 18:40

When I started working with a personal trainer, it seriously felt life changing. Looking back on it now, it really was. Personal trainer Los Angeles can help you learn how to benefit the most from the time you spend exercising. In the end, this saves you time and money every day by keeping your workouts efficient and results oriented.

Another thing is that exercising by yourself can be the most boring and tedious things ever. Having someone else to work with and push your limits makes a huge difference. You inevitably learn and try new things you wouldn't have been aware of otherwise. You end up doing the same old workout routine for months on end until you can't stand it. It only makes sense that people who work out this way tend to fail.

Changing your exercise routine on a regular basis is crucial to success over the long term. One of the greatest benefits of having a trainer is that they can see your progress clearly and will know how to send you in the right direction to further your goals. It is basically their job to come up with workout routines for their clients so find a good trainer and you will be in great shape without a doubt as long as you remain committed.

The best of all is finding a personal trainer Los Angeles who has also been trained in nutrition. This means they are also qualified to advise you on your diet. Getting that information from the same person who is with you in the gym makes a lot of sense. Even the best exercise routines are doomed without basic nutrition habits. Good or bad nutrition can make or break a lot of dieters, and unfortunately not all the weight loss stuff available is considered nutritional or healthy. Getting an expert opinion from the same person you get your workout routine from makes sense and helps align all your health and fitness actions towards the same goal.

A decent alternative to trainers are video courses. Using video as motivation is nothing new and it works great for staying in shape. It is really the worst when you set aside time to workout and get sidetracked by distractions. I would often end up having spent an hour and a half to do a half baked, thirty minute workout. Staying focused is really just an important part of the whole discipline deal.

If you are not really keeping fit in anyway at all yet then remember it is never too late to start. Anything is better than nothing so even if you go from doing nothing to walking a few miles a few days a week that is a big improvement. Many people stress themselves out by thinking up these huge routines that are not really appropriate for someone who hasn't be working out in a while. Be honest with yourself and start out small and light and stick with it and surely you will see success.

Maximizing Exercise Routines with a Personal Trainer

LA personal trainer
It's been getting harder and harder to stay in shape as I age. Still, it is a challenge I have met head on and as a result I am quite healthy and in great shape. That said, there is always room for improvement and I still don't quite look like a sculpted athlete. I am healthy, fit and at an appropriate body weight for someone my height but I have been considering turning things up a notch.

One option I have been seriously considering is to see my personal trainer Los Angeles more often. I've been going a few times a year for a while, just to get motivated after the holidays and learn some new routines. However, I have been thinking that adding it back into my routine for the winter could make a big difference on the usual holiday weight gain. Thanksgiving and Christmas are a big deal for my family and good food is a big part of our celebration. Amping up my winter work outs might be a good way to fight off holiday fat.

I've always loved baseball. I was a short stop in high school and college. Being healthy is something that just needs to be done on a day to day basis for it to work. Keeping track of what you do and eat day to day can be really helpful to track your progress. Even though it is something I have done all my life it still takes a lot of dedication. I find I do much better having a personal trainer Los Angeles there to push me on and help me get the most out of every workout session.

Obviously, retaining a personal trainer can get a bit expensive. Three months costs about as much as a short, no frills vacation and that is enough for me at a time. However, since you can't put a price on your health I am thinking it might be worthwhile to take on another three months each year. Diet is important but without a fitness routine you are just not going to be at the level you could and should be at. If you can't afford the trainer then video routines can also help you stay motivated.

How to Break Away From Your Boring Old Gym Routine

If you haven't worked out regularly in a while, you usually see a lot of fast improvements as you get going during the first few months. Eventually, it is common to plateau for a while. You will see little to no progress, almost as if your current routine just isn't effective any more. This is your body letting you know that it is tired of doing the same old stuff and it is time to change it up a bit. Many people face the similar problem of only knowing a few workout routines in which case a personal trainer Los Angeles can be very beneficial. They can help you design a new workout tailored for your specific goals and body type and help you get past that frustrating "plateau" so you can get back to making improvements with every session.

Altering your workout has many benefits. Often if you have been following the same routine for a few months, day in and day out, it becomes monotonous and almost robotic. Your muscles don't respond the same way eventually because they adapt quickly, hence the fast immediate gains early on. Changing your routine can help you break out of a plateau because different exercises, even targeted to the same muscle groups, may work different muscles in a different way.

I like to change my workout every other month or so to keep it from getting stale, sometimes even earlier. Otherwise I get bored and that causes me to be less diligent with my routine. Changing the routine can help to target smaller muscles which you may not have been using much with your other workouts. It will help you maintain progress over time.

For athletes, this is also a great time to explore some good cross training opportunities. It can be a fun way to change up your work out. The benefits of weight training can be hard to replicate with other exercises, but of course there are other more strenuous activities. For example, bouldering requires immense strength, endurance and determination. Most climbers are in great shape.

Of course, rock climbing is not for everyone. I love it, but it may not be for you. Remember these are just examples and there is always more than one way to skin a cat, or, in this case, get into great shape. You could hire a trainer or try a karate class. Mixed martial arts has also taken off and those fighters train very hard. Gyms are popping up all over the country to supply the insane demand created by UFC over the last decade. My personal LA personal trainer offers classes in this and the few times I joined in were absolutely grueling. A few sessions with a great MMA trainer could give you a whole new perspective on what you are really capable of.

Remember though, you don't have to try every single thing that is out there just for the sake of changing up your routine. Once you find a few things you like you can rotate between them at your own discretion. Ultimately it all comes down to what works best for you. The main thing is to just change it often enough to keep your muscles from getting bored. Rotate every three to four months and you will be fine.
